Looking at the 3 principal ingredients in greater detail:

• Pyruvate: Research studies have indicated that pyruvate may promote weight loss as well as boost endurance. Optimal performance was obtained with pyruvate when subjects took between 10 -15 times the recommended dose. The weight reduction results, although positive, were not particularly pronounced. Taking pyruvate at a concentration shown to have efficacy is also very expensive, which raises a question as to the amount of the compound that is actually present in the BioSlim formulation.
