Cellucor T7 Extreme

Cellucor T7 Extreme is a weight loss supplement that is claimed to promote fat burning, increase energy and suppress appetite. The main ingredient in this product is Fucoxanthin. This is found in brown algae and has been shown in animal studies to increase thermogenesis and promote weight loss. However, the claims for Cellucor T7 Extreme are entirely speculative because no clinical studies have been carried out on the diet pill itself, or any of the ingredients. In addition, at least one, and possibly more of the ingredients in this product appear to be present at suboptimal doses.

T7 Extreme pros

  • Cellucor T7 Extreme is stimulant free and is unlikely to have side effects at the recommended dose.
  • Cellucor T7 Extreme is manufactured to a high standard in the US by an established company.

  • Very little information is presented on Cellucor T7 Extreme on the official website.
  • There appears to be no clinical data at present on Cellucor T7 Extreme or any of its ingredients, with regard to weight loss.

T7 Extreme side effects

Cellucor T7 Extreme could affect individuals with pre-existing thyroid conditions, but there is no clinical data available on this potential risk. Otherwise, T7 Extreme appears safe at the recommended dosage.

T7 Extreme ingredients

Each capsule of Cellucor T7 Extreme contains 96 mg of the following ingredients:

Zinc aspartate: Zinc is an essential mineral needed to help maintain healthy skin, bones, hair, nails and eyes. Zinc may also speed recovery from cold and flu, canker sores, sore throat, and skin injuries, and reduce the symptoms of tinnitus, acne, and some eye disorders. Zinc has important antioxidant, immune and anti-inflammatory properties. However, zinc does not appear to play any significant role in the promotion of weight loss.

Fucoxanthin: This ingredient is a carotenoid present in seaweed and other marine vegetables. There are a number of studies that have demonstrated fucoxanthin’s ability to boost metabolism, but to date, they have all been carried out exclusively in studies on animals. It is also been shown that fucoxanthin cannot be easily be absorbed by the human body. In addition, it has been demonstrated clinically that compounds like fucoxanthin have low bioavailability in man (see Br J Nutr. 2008; 100 (2): 273-277).

Salix matsudana extract: Salix matsudana is a species of willow native to China. Polyphenols extracted from this plant have been demonstrated in animal studies to have anti-obesity effects (Phytother Res. 2003;17:1195-1198; Zhongguo Zhong Yao Za Zhi. 2000;25:538-541). The optimal dose was relatively high at around 6000mg/kg. Even if Salix matsudana could promote weight loss in man the dose would be measured in grams, and not milligrams. This dosage is far higher than the 96 mg total ingredient content of a T7 Extreme capsule.

3,5-Dihydroxy Phenylacetate: This is a water soluble B9 vitamin. All B vitamins assist and regulate carbohydrate, fat and protein metabolism. They also contribute to hemoglobin synthesis and red blood cell production. In addition, B complex vitamins help maintain muscle tone along the wall of the digestive tract and promote healthy skin, hair, eyes, mouth, liver and nervous system. It is claimed by Cellucor that, due to its similarity in structure to thyroid hormone precursors, vitamin B9 can boost the activity of thyroid, elevate metabolism, and therefore promote weight loss. However, currently there appears to be no clinical evidence to backup this weight loss claim.

T7 Extreme conclusion

Cellucor T7 Extreme is a product designed for athletes and not the average dieter. The claims made for Cellucor T7 Extreme made by the manufacturer are not currently supported by clinical data.
