Tetrazene is the brand name for a range of different products many of which include Glucomannan as a key ingredient. The manufacture claims that Tetrazene Extreme’s combination of premium-quality appetite suppressants, metabolic enhancers, and energy boosters deliver a level of effectiveness that may far exceed that of competing diet pills. Tetrazene Extreme is marketed by a subsidiary of Cytodyne LLC, the same company that was sued in 2005 due to unsubstantiated and misleading advertising in connection with another slimming pill, Xenadrine EFX. The company had to pay out over 25 million dollars in fines.

Caralluma fimbriata
The key active ingredient in Tetrazene Extreme is Slimaluma extract, which is derived from the Caralluma fimbriata. Caralluma is a succulent cactus that has been used as a natural appetite suppressant for many centuries in India. It’s overall effects are comparable with another popular weight loss cactus, Hoodia gordonii.
Caralluma fimbriata is also believed to have an effect on the hypothalamus, the appetite control center located in the brain. The cactus is also believed to block the activity of several enzymes, inhibiting the formation of body fat. A patented extract of Caralluma fimbriata has been developed and standardized by a company named Gencor. Known as Slimaluma, the extract delivers the plants active ingredient in a concentrated form.
Caralluma fimbriata clinical studies
In a number of clinical studies Slimaluma has been shown to be effective in reducing body fat through appetite supression.
For example, Slimaluma underwent clinical evaluation at the Division of Nutrition, St John’s National Academy of Health Sciences, Bangalore India in 2003. The study trial was a double-blind, randomized, placebo controlled trial on 62 subjects. One capsule containing 500 mg Slimaluma , was taken at one hour before a meal. Statistically significant differences were obtained between the active treatment and placebo groups in terms of reduction in body weight, body mass index, waist circumference, hip circumference, body fat, blood pressure and appetite levels.
Another clinical trial was carried out at Western Geriatric Research Institute, LA, USA. This study involved 26 patients and followed the same double-blind format as the earlier clinical trial. The duration of the study was 4 weeks. One capsule containing 500 mg Slimaluma was ingested 30 minutes before a major meal. Out of 18 patients, 15 lost weight. Eleven patients (61.11%) lost about six pounds. Four patients lost 1 to 2 pounds, and two patients maintained their starting weight.
Side effects
Side effects reported were gastro-intestinal in nature These included acidity (moderate), constipation (mild) and flatulence (mild to moderate).These effects subsided within a week after commencement of the studies. No changes in ECG were noted. Changes in Basal Metabolic Rate were not investigated.

How Does Tetrazene Extreme Work?
Tetrazene Extreme does contain some established diet pill ingredients such as Slimaluma, Green Tea Extract, Caffeine and Oolong Tea. Tetrazene Extreme is, however, extremely heavy on the stimulants. The product works by suppressing appetite and stimulating fat burning.

Recommended dose
Take two capsules with at least 8 oz (a full glass) of water 1 hour before breakfast, lunch and dinner. Do not exceed a total of 4 capsules per day.Serving Size: 2 Capsules. Do not take in the evening. For best results, use as part of a sensible diet and exercise program.
