Liporexall Review

Liporexall is a diet pill that is virtually identical in composition to another diet pill, Anoretix. It contains nine patented and clinically tested weight loss ingredients. However, it is a common mistake to believe that “patented” means proven and effective. Liporexall does contain some good ingredients. Unfortunately, their concentrations have not been revealed, so that it is not possible to gauge if they are present in large enough amounts to be effective. Actual clinical studies have not been carried out on the efficacy of Liporexell itself.

How effective is Liporexall?

The official Liporexall website claims that body fat reduction is 300% higher than is the case with other diet pills. It mentions clinical trials carried out on Liporexall ingredients, without detailing the amounts of the ingredients used in these trials. Some of the ingredients are proven to promote fat loss. However, the compounds found in weight loss products need to be present in potent enough doses to be effective. Due to the cramming of 10 ingredients into a 460 mg capsule, it is highly unlikely that most, if any, of the ingredients are present in high enough concentrations to be fully effective.

Liporexall side effects

Many diet pills have associated side effects, usually caused by the incorporation of too many stimulant-based ingredients into their formulations. Individuals that are sensitive to caffeine are particularly susceptible to these side effects. The ingredients in the Liporexall formulation are not harmful in themselves. However, Liporexall contains caffeine. In some people, stimulants like this can cause side effects such as restlessness, headaches, jitteriness, nervousness, irritability, insomnia, palpitations, elevated heartbeat and increased blood pressure. Side effects may also be experienced if allergic to any of the ingredients.

Liporexall ingredients

Liporexalls’ ingredients are:

  • ChromeMate
  • Super Citrimax
  • PinnoThin
  • Advantra-Z
  • Neopuntia
  • Phase-2
  • 7 Keto
  • Forslean
  • Infinergy Dicaffeine Malate
  • Tonalin
  • Bioperine

Looking at the ingredients in greater detail:

Each capsule of Liporexall contains 300mcg of ChromeMate and the remaining concentrations of the ingredients are hidden in a proprietary blend of 460.5 mg.

ChromeMate (Chromium Polynicotinate) is a niacin-bound chromium complex that plays an important role in the regulation of insulin function, and the maintenance of healthy blood sugar and cholesterol levels. It is a common ingredient in many weight loss products. Clinical studies have shown that when combined with exercise and a sensible diet, ChromeMate can help maintain a healthy body weight and promote normal energy metabolism.

Super CitriMax has been demonstrated clinically to reduce appetite, burn fat and lower blood cholesterol levels. Researchers at Georgetown University Medical Center (Washington, DC) and Andhra University (Visakhapatnam, India) have demonstrated that Super CitriMax can inhibit appetite, and promote thermogenesis without apparent side effects. The compound also promotes healthy blood lipid levels. In an 8 week clinical study subjects lost close to 12 pounds taking Super CitriMax as compared to only 2.3 pounds in the placebo group. The dose of Super CitriMax used in the study was 4667 mg divided into 3 daily doses (J. Med. [2004] 35(1-6):33-48). This dose is well above the daily dosage provided by Liporexhall.

PinnoThin (Korean Pine Nut Oil) is included in the Liporexall formulation as an appetite suppressant due to the fact that it is believed to stimulate several appetite suppressing hormones (cholecystokinin and glucagon-like peptide 1). In a clinical study (Lipids Health Dis. 2008: 28;6) 2000 mg of Pinnothin taken 30 minutes before a buffet lunch reduced food intake by 9% (50 calories).

Advantra-Z is a patented form of Synephrine, an alkaloid that is derived from Citrus aurantium. It is considered as a safe alternative to the now banned Ephedra and is believed to promote thermogenesis. Synephrine has replaced Ephedra in many popular fat burners. Manufacturers claim that Synephrine provides the “fat burning” effects of Ephedra, but without side effects such as sleeplessness, jitters, elevated blood pressure, etc. There are studies, however, that indicate that Synephrine can elevate blood pressure and heart rate (e.g. Ann. Pharmacother. 2006; 40(1):53-7).

NeOpuntia (Opuntia ficus-indica) is a patented cactus extract composed of soluble and insoluble dietary fibers. These fibers are claimed to bind dietary fat and thus prevents it from being absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract. The clinical study supporting this claim was very small and only involved 10 subjects. The participants in this study received 4800 mg of NeOpuntia daily. A capsule of Liporexall only contains 460 mg of ingredients, so that the amount of NeOpuntia included in this formula will fall far short of the dose shown to be effective.

Phase 2 is an all-natural ingredient extracted from white kidney beans. It has been demonstrated clinically that it can neutralize the digestive enzyme alpha amylase, preventing it from converting starch into glucose and subsequently fat. Thus, Phase-2 facilitates the passage of carbohydrates (rice, pasta, corn, crackers, breads, etc.) through the digestive tract with reduced intake into the body. However, a clinical study reported that Phase 2 had no significant effect on weight loss.

7-Keto is a naturally occurring metabolite of DHEA, a steroid hormone produced in the body, and believed to enhance metabolism. It has been shown to have a positive effect on thyroid hormone levels in obese people (J Nutr Biochem. 2007; 18:629-634; Current Therapeutics. 2000; 7:435-442). When used in conjunction with a healthy diet and exercise program, the compound can accelerate weight loss. 7-Keto has been demonstrated to have a positive effect on thyroid hormone levels in obese people. A clinical study demonstrated that taking 7-Keto resulted in significant reductions in body fat. Over an 8 week period the average subject lost 6.3 lbs as compared with 2.1 lbs in the placebo group. 7-Keto elicits no apparent side effects (i.e. no conversion to testosterone or estrogen, and no effect on the sex hormones). The dose of 7-Keto used in these studies was 100 mg, given twice daily.

ForsLean (Coleus forskholii) is an herb that has been demonstrated to enhance lipolysis. It may also inhibit fat storage. Another way that ForsLean may promote fat loss is by stimulating thyroid hormone (thyroxin) production. Thyroxin controls metabolism and can enhance metabolic rate, promoting fat loss. In an 8 week clinical study subjects taking ForsLean lost on average 9.9 lbs of body weight compared to the placebo group where only 1.1 lbs of fat was lost. Another study (J Internat Soc Sports Nutr. 2005;2(2):54-62, 2005) concluded that Coleus forskohlii did not appear to promote weight loss but that it may help mitigate weight gain in overweight females with no clinically significant side effects. The dose of Coleus forskohlii used in this study was 500 mg daily (10% CF extract).

Infinergy Caffeine Malate provides an energy boost, as well as promoting modest thermogenic activity. It is a common ingredient in many weight loss products and diet pills. Infinergy Caffeine Malate is a modified form of caffeine (it is bonded with malic acid). It is claimed to outperform regular caffeine. However, there is no published data to validate these claims.

Tonalin CLA is extracted from safflower oil. Many years of research indicate that CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) suppresses the enzyme that promotes the storage of body fat. Tonalin CLA is the highest quality form of CLA available. A review of a number of clinical studies (Am J Clin Nutrit. 2007; 85:1203-1211) concluded that a dose of 3200 mg per day of CLA produced a modest loss in body fat. This dose is orders of magnitude higher than the dose of CLA available in Liporexall.

Bioperine is a standardized extract from the fruit of Piper nigrum L (black pepper), or Piper longum L (long pepper), that contains 95 percent Piperine. Piperine, in the patented form of Bioperine increases the body’s natural thermogenic activity. It also enhances the body’s absorption of nutrients (Planta Med. 1998: 64:353-356).

Liporexall guarantee

The manufacturers of Liporexall will guarantee unopened bottles of their product for life. The advantage of this is that if, for example, three bottles are purchased and the product proves ineffective, the two unopened bottles can be returned for a refund – even a year or more later.

Liporexall pricing

Liporexall is not cheap. Whenever a diet pill contains patented ingredients, there is an associated cost for manufacturing.

Where to purchase Liporexall ?

Liporexall can be purchased from internet websites and on eBay.

Liporexall dosage

One capsule of Liporexall is taken 2 times per day to a total dose of 921 mg. Each bottle contains 60 capsules and lasts 30 days (2 capsules/day).

Liporexall conclusion

Liporexall appears to be an expensive, over-hyped diet pill. The key ingredients that have been shown to promote weight loss are not present in concentrations that are high enough for optimal effectiveness.
