Noxycut is a stimulant heavy pill with side effects reported by many users. It has an identical composition to the popular diet pill TestoRipped. Like TestoRipped, Noxycut is a fat burning, muscle building and energy boosting formulation designed for men only. Noxycut capsules are colored blue (so are TestoRipped capsules) and contain 10 major ingredients. Unfortunately, there is no clinical data posted on the official website supporting the Noxycut formulation. Is Health Science Nutrition selling the identical product under two different names?

How does Noxycut work?
Noxycut contains an extensive number of ingredients that can be separated into three groups: Testosterone boosters, muscle builders and fat burners. The testosterone boosters are Tribulus terrestris, Eurycoma longifolia (100:1) and L-Glutamine. Creatine Ethyl Ester, Glutamine, and Arginine are the muscle builders. The fat burners are Synephrine, Guggulsterones, Yohimbe, Caffeine and Cinnamon. Caffeine is also included to provide energy by stimulating the central nervous system. Synepherine is incorporated as the primary fat burner and works in combination with caffeine. Guggulsterones are used to increase the levels of the thyroid hormone which boosts metabolism. Yohimbe is believed to enhance the libido, while cinnamon increases insulin levels and reduces blood sugar. Tribulus Terrestris is present in the formulation to boost energy levels and promote the production of testosterone. Eurycoma longifolia is also used to help increase testosterone levels and regulate cortisol. Creatine is incorporated to aid performance and accelerate muscle growth, and arginine delivers elevated levels of nitric oxide which is believed to increase blood flow and muscle mass. The manufacturer stresses that the active ingredients in Noxycut have been developed to help promote fat loss and muscle gain in combination with dieting and exercise. In reality the effectiveness of many of the ingredients is questionable at the concentrations used.

Looking at the ingredients in greater detail:
Tribulus Terrestris (80% Saponins; 200 mg): Tribulus has long been used to treat a variety of conditions such as low energy, depression, impotence, infertility in men and women and to boost vigor and strength. This compound is claimed to elevate testosterone levels, thus increasing muscle mass and enhancing libido. Tribulus is frequently used to promote fat loss. However, to date the clinical trials involving Tribulus have shown no effect on body fat or testosterone production (Int J Sport Nutr Exerc Metab. 2000;10(2):208-215; J Ethnopharmacol. 2005; 101(1-3):319-23).
Eurycoma longifolia (50 mg): Eurycoma has been used for years as an aphrodisiac. Standardized for 40% glyco saponins and 30% polysacharides, the Eurycoma extract in Noxycut has been shown to help increase IGF1 levels and modulate cortisol levels. Studies on this particular extract have shown that it increases average male serum testosterone level and muscle strength (Phytomedicine. 2003;10(6-7):590-593: Exp Anim. 2000:49(1):35-38; Br. J. Sports Med. 2003;37: 464-470).
L-Glutamine (100 mg): L-Glutamine is used by athletes and bodybuilders to help them recover faster from workouts and competition, and to keep muscles hydrated for maximum growth. However, to obtain optimal results from this compound a higher dose than 100 mg is required. Even at doses of 3-6 grams there are clinical studies that indicate that glutamine has no beneficial effects on muscle performance (J Strength Cond Res. 2002;16(1):157-160; Sports Med. 2003;33(5):323-345).
Creatine Ethyl Ester (100 mg): Creatine is a substance sold as an aid to athletic performance and for muscle development in bodybuilding. Numerous studies support Creatines’ effectiveness in enhancing athletic performance (e.g. Med Sci Sports Exerc. 1998;30(1):73-82; Med Sci Sports Exerc. 2002;34(2):332-343). Creatine bloat is caused by poor absorption of creatine monohydrate. Creatine ethyl ester is a more effective form of creatine because it uses fat to more efficiently permeate the cell wall. Unfortunately, a dose of around 2000 mg of creatine is needed to be fully effective.
Arginine AKG (100 mg): Arginine Alpha Ketoglutarate (AKG) has been shown to increase nitric oxide (NO) levels. NO is a key molecule used by the body to transport oxygen, increase blood flow and deliver nutrients to skeletal muscle. AKG helps increase workout performance, which can result in increased muscle mass. However, 3 – 6 grams of arginine (30 to 60 times the amount included in Noxycut) are needed.
Caffeine (150 mg): A recognized fatburner with clinically proven benefits for weight loss (e.g. Am J Clin Nutr. 1989;49(1):44-50; Am J Clin Nutr. 1980;33(5):989-97), although there are indications that it offers greater benefits to leaner individuals (Am J Physiol. 1995;269(4 Pt 1):E671-678).
Cinnamon Extract (50 mg): Cinnamon is used in traditional Chinese medicine as a remedy for digestive problems. It is a plant native to Bangladesh, India and Nepal. The inner bark (and sometimes essential oil) is referred to as cinnamon spice. Cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum and Cinnamomum cassia) may be beneficial in lowering blood-sugar levels and may also help slow the body’s absorption of fat. Research studies have yielded conflicting results and it is not yet clear whether taking a cinnamon supplement reduces blood sugar levels with long-term use.
Guggulsterones 2.5% (15 mg): This ingredient is a patented extract of Commiphora mukul, a tree that grows in India. Another common name for this compound is Guggul. In India Guggul is used to help lower blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels. It can help maintain a healthy balance of HDL, the good cholesterol, relative to LDL, the bad cholesterol (the HDL/LDL ratio), thereby protecting against cardiovascular disease and atherosclerosis. A clinical study found that Guggul can boost fat burning (see J Postgrad Med. 1995; 41(1): 5-7) by stimulating the secretion of the T3 thyroid hormone.
Synephrine HCL (15 mg): Synephrine is derived from the Citrus aurantium plant which is used in traditional Chinese medicine. Clinical studies have found that Citrus aurantium promotes a relatively modest increase in thermogenesis (fat burning). Although found in many fat burners, there is no convincing evidence that Synephrine, when used alone, is effective for weight loss. There is some data showing positive weight loss effects, but only when Synephrine is used in combination with caffeine and St. John’s Wort.
Yohimbe (1.5 mg): Yohimbe is a tree bark containing a range of pharmacologically active compounds and is often consumed as an aphrodisiac. A number of studies support Yohimbes’ positive effects on weight loss (e.g. Isr J Med SCI 1991. 27(10):550-6). However, the effects are not dramatic. Serious side effects associated with products containing Yohimbe have been reported to the FDA, including renal failure, seizures and death. The major alkaloid in Yohimbe is Yohimbine, a chemical that induces vasodilation, thereby lowering blood pressure. Additional side effects can include anxiety attacks.
Noxycut dosage
One container of Noxycut contains 75 pills which approximates to a 30-day dosage. The serving size is one capsule.
Noxycut website
The official Noxycut website is strong on marketing and weak on detail. The FAQ section is very limited and there are no before and after photos accompanying the small number of testimonials. No details of the manufacturer are given and contact information is limited to an email address and a telephone number. In addition, there is no information provided as to the country of manufacture and quality control procedures involved in producing Noxycut. No clinical evidence is presented supporting the product.
Noxycut money back guarantee
Noxycut is only backed by a partial guarantee.
Noxycut conclusion
Noxycut is not a regular diet pill and is not recommended for the average person looking to lose weight. It is extremely difficult to build muscle and lose fat at the same time. In addition to exercise, a rotation diet is also required. Some user testimonials and consumer reviews support Noxycuts’ claims of fat reduction, elevated stamina and energy levels, and improved muscle mass – but mainly athletes and bodybuilders. However, there are also plenty of negative testimonials claiming zero success with Noxycut. Although Noxycut does not contain ephedra it is a stimulant heavy diet pill. If sensitive to stimulants, this product is best avoided. Yohimbe in Noxycut comes with some serious side effects, for example, raised heart rate. Consumers should be cautious of the claims made for Noxycut and be careful to consider the potential health consequences of taking this diet pill.

An internet search revealed that the manufacturer of TestoRipped is Health Science Nutrition. It is probable that they also manufacture Noxycut. However, this cannot be confirmed because Noxycut is not a registered trademark in the US.
